What is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis a degenerative joint disease that can be painful and can affect dogs of all ages, breed and sizes, although it is most common among older animals. It is often called OA for short.
It’s the same condition that affects humans and other animals too.
What are the most common signs of Osteoarthritis?
These are some of the most common signs that we see –
- Lagging behind on walks
- Limping after exercise
- Slow to get up after lying down
- Difficulties with steps and stairs
- Stiff movement
- Problems jumping – for example to get into your car.
What are the consequences of getting Osteoarthritis?
If left untreated, the pain can become worse over time.
